Coastal Vacations is a 13 year-old company that is based in the wholesale travel club industry and operates out of Kissimmee, Florida. They offer a home based business opportunity by marketing or selling their vacation packages through the direct selling medium.
The product line of Coastal Vacations is comprised of many direct to consumer travel vacation packages to select destinations around the globe. In addition, their home business opportunity consists of associates marketing the vacation packages at a starting price of $1295 and I have seen the packages as high as $11,000.
In reviewing the Coastal Vacations compensation plan, it consists of a 2-Up system and has payouts of $1000 for every $1295 sale made by a qualified affiliate. However, the issue with this compensation plan is that the new associate is required to give up his or hers first 2 sales before being qualified to earn an income from compensation plan (the 2-Up). For example, to become a new representative, you must pay $1295 and then give up $2,000 ($1,000 x 2) from your first 2 qualifying sales. You are then a qualified sponsor. In total, a new member will have to give up $3,295 before they can earn an income with the Coastal program. Another glitch with the 2-Up program is that if you bring in a new representative who then makes a sale or two each day, you will only be paid on their first 2 sales and then are no longer paid on the new representative’s future efforts. In turn, they will eventually breakaway from their sponsor and ultimately will become the competition. This will have a negative impact on the qualified Coastal Vacations sponsor. It can cause a lack of motivation to help the new associate since they will become the competition.
In conclusion, the Coastal Vacations program has many select vacation destinations but the compensation plan leaves more to be desired. Some representatives do well with a 2-Up program, but most will struggle with this type of system. For the experienced Internet marketer who doesn’t mind investing over a $1,000 plus passing up their first 2 qualifying sales, the Coastal Vacations home based business opportunity may be the right fit.
